Catchy New Pokemon Music Video Celebrates How Weak and Useless Magikarp Is

A love song for the Poke-Ages.

Spare a thought for Magikarp, the Pokemon so lame that there's now a music video exploring his inadequacies in catchy, rhythmic detail.

The Pokemon Company has published a video called "I LOVE Magikarp," in which an adorable-sounding Japanese kid sings about being a fan of Magikarp, despite his uselessness in pretty much everything.

The video is intended to be a celebration of the little splashing fish but, if we're honest, we can't get on board with this love. Not until it reaches level 19 anyway. Check it out below.

The Pokemon Company's official YouTube page is full of many weird and wonderful videos, from trailers for games to explorations of the science behind elemental attacks. It's worth checking out.

In related Pokemon news, mobile game Pokemon Go continues to take over the world and has reportedly been downloaded more times in its first week than any other app in history. Those looking forward to the Pokemon Go Plus accessory, however, will have to wait a little longer as has been delayed until September.

Pokemon Sun/Moon, meanwhile, is due to launch on November 18 in the US and November 23 in the UK. It will feature a new free-for-all battle mode and there are a few awesome-looking 3DS models, one of which features Sun/Moon's Legendaries on it, that will be available.
